Position: Director of Marketing and Communications

PT: Full-time (12 month)

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field along with several years of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities and requirements: The Marketing and Communications Director manages marketing and communications initiatives to promote Overbrook School, helps recruit students and informs prospective and current families and donors. The position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing an integrated communications and marketing plan that supports the work of all areas of school life, particularly admissions and advancement. Key goals include increasing visibility and awareness of Overbrook School among current stakeholders as well as populations less familiar with the school, and coordinating a brand management and communications plan of the highest quality that reflects the Catholic, Dominican mission of Overbrook School. Superb writing skills are essential. Experience with branding, media releases, website design, social media techniques, printed materials, photography, video and editing, and bulk e-mail programs is preferred.

First Grade Teacher

Position: First Grade Teacher

PT: Full-time (10 month)

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in elementary education, master’s degree preferred, three years of teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities and requirements: The primary responsibility of this teaching position is educating students at the first-grade level in all subject areas with a special emphasis on the acquisition of basic reading and math skills. As first grade is a foundational year, the classroom teacher will work with all students on reading skills and strategies, developing key mathematical concepts and developing skills that prepare them for second and third grade. Classroom teachers are also responsible for teaching religion, grammar and phonics, handwriting, science and social studies.

Postition: Kindergarten Aide

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in elementary education with three years of teaching experience preferred.

Experience with Montessori methods is preferred.

Physical Education Teacher/Assistant Athletic Director

Postition: PE Teacher/Assistant AD

PT: Part-time (10 month)

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in physical education or education, with at least 3 years teaching experience.

Responsibilities and requirements: As the physical education teacher, the primary responsibility is to engage the children in organized sport competitions or other physical activity. Physical educators must also stress the importance of maintaining a healthy way of life, through both exercise and positive lifestyle choices. Teachers should also be good role models.

The primary responsibility of the assistant athletic director is to help promote the Overbrook athletic program and advocate participation in athletics among students and parents. The assistant is also expected to help manage coaches for all sports, schedule and coordinate games across all seasons, coordinate and supervise athletic events, and oversee the maintenance for athletic facilities.

Office Assistant/Receptionist

Postition: Office Assistant/Receptionist

PT: Part-time (10 month)

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field with at least three years office experience preferred.

Responsibilities and requirements: One of the primary responsibilities for this position is to be the representative face and voice for Overbrook School, as this person is often the first contact visitors have with Overbrook. The office assistant/receptionist answers all incoming calls to Overbrook as well as welcomes all visitors to the school. The office assistant/receptionist is also responsible for designated office duties. This position has a great deal of contact with parents and prospective parents and a professional and friendly demeanor is required.

Spanish Teacher

Postition: Spanish Teacher

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Spanish required with a teaching certification, master’s degree in Spanish preferred, three years of teaching experience preferred.

Latin Teacher

Postition: Latin Teacher

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts or pedagogy with an emphasis on classical languages (Master’s degree preferred), three years of teaching experience teaching Latin to middle or high school students preferred.

Substitute Teacher

Position: Substitute teachers

PT: Part-time flexible hours

ExtendedCARE

Position: ExtendedCARE Workers

PT: Part-time (2:30-6 p.m. when school is in session)

Applicants should enjoy working with school-age children and must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma. Some responsibilities include playground supervision, assisting students with homework, arts and crafts, and monitoring of computer usage.
